What does the school day look like?

The program will provide a modified schedule for the High Performer Athlete to accommodate their training schedule and/or academic needs. Athletes begin or end their day at times that vary from traditional school hours.

Will High Performer Athletes get credit for training?

Yes. If the training schedule totals 110 hours and the High Performer Athlete can demonstrate the same skills developed under the Physical Education curriculum expectations. 

Are High Performer Athletes eligible to participate in extracurricular activities?

Yes. High Performer Athletes are eligible to participate in all sports and clubs offered at Holy Cross Catholic Academy.

Can High Performer Athletes participate in their primary sport?

Yes. If the High Performer Athlete resides within the school’s boundary they are permitted to play their primary sport. Athletes who reside outside the school’s boundary are subject to the YRAA eligibility rules.

Will transportation be provided to students in the High Performer Athlete Program?

Transportation will be provided to students who live within the school’s boundaries as per YCDSB Transportation policy. Families who reside outside the school’s boundaries are responsible for transportation to and from Holy Cross Catholic Academy.

Will we have to reapply each year?

No. Once your child is granted admission to the program, they will retain their enrolment until such time they no longer require a flexible schedule, graduate, or fail to maintain the program requirements as outlined herein.
